Mini V was also a decent enough Minimoog Model D emulation, but the world is filled with those. This was the single biggest shock of the lot, honestly. That wasn’t necessarily the case with the MiniFreak, the MicroFreak or even Pigments. Whether they were designed in house or by an artist they worked with, most felt designed to show off what the plugins were capable of musically, as opposed to technically. With MiniFreak 2.0, Augmented Woodwinds and the rebuilt Mini V4, Arturia really improved the quality of its presets. This was sort of a running theme, though. It’s basically just one gorgeous broken patch after another. There are two paid soundpacks, but also three free ones and, well, I can’t recommend that you download Deserted Lands from Oscillator Sink enough. Yes, there are plenty of weirdo sound effects and dubstep bass wubs, but there are also some lovely chilly pads and delicate keys.Īdditionally, Arturia is finally adding preset packs for the MiniFreak and MiniFreak V to its store. There are 64 new presets designed to show off the strength of the wavetable engine and there’s some real winners in there. And perhaps, best of all, they seem to be able to handle bass better than some of the other oscillators - an area the Freak line has always felt a little weak in. The 32 wavetables are pretty solid and modern sounding. MiniFreak V, on the other hand, got a major update yesterday with a new wavetable engine, new super unison effect and some improvements to the LFO. It does what you expect it to and not much else, but with about one-tenth of the headaches of the real thing. And frankly, nothing has changed with Acid V in the roughly four months since I wrote about it, so I won’t say much beyond, it’s an excellent TB-303 emulator. MiniFreak VĪcid V and MiniFreak V both launched earlier this year. Arturia seems to do an admirable job of capturing the spirit of the CP-70, but it comes close enough to sounding like a real piano, I’d be far more likely to reach for the regular ol' Piano V plugin in most cases. It’s brighter and there’s less room for shaping the sound without adding effects. The result though, is less characterful than those other electric pianos. That was definitely a huge selling point for touring acts in the ‘70s and ‘80s that wanted the sound of a grand piano, but didn’t want to lug one on the road. It also used piezo pickups instead of magnetic ones, resulting in a sound that is significantly closer to an actual acoustic piano. The CP-70 used strings like a real piano, instead of the metal reeds and tines found in Rhodes in Wurlitzers. A very specific one that hasn’t enjoyed the same level of reverence as the Rhodes or Wurlitzer, but isn’t without its merits. The other completely new instrument, CP-70 V, is a lot more straightforward. You can even completely disable the sample layers and go woodwind-less, though, you might as well use one of the other plugins at that point. They all have a suite of advanced controls where you can build almost any sound you want from its four layer engine (two samples and two synths). That’s not to say you can’t find a use for them in a pop song or jazz arrangement, but these are all about atmosphere and texture, and there’s a healthy dose of sounds that would only be appropriate in the tensest moments of a cosmic horror film. Like the rest of the Augmented series, Woodwinds, Brass and Grand Piano feel built especially with scoring in mind. (With the exception of a few presets that seem to come undone when faced with MPE input, at least.) You’re never going to convince anyone that the sounds coming out of it are from a flesh-and-blood woodwind ensemble, but the soft cinematic pads and leads you can coax out of it are compelling, especially when paired with an MPE controller like the Push or Seaboard Rise 2. Yet, Arturia pulls it off, largely by leaning into the synth side of things pretty strongly. I think Augmented Strings and Grand Piano are excellent, but have found little use for Brass and Voices so far, and woodwinds often feel like some of the most difficult acoustic instruments to get right in a sample library. I’ll admit to being somewhat skeptical of Augmented Woodwinds at first.

You can get around this by reading an authentication key out of your real Mac hardware (the OSK key). MacOS checks that it is running on real Mac hardware, and refuses to boot on third-party hardware. iso file extension, this is actually a hard disk image. This has several improvements over my old Clover-based tutorial, like fixes to screen resolution problems, better CPU feature support, and better FileVault compatibility, and is recommended for all future builds.ĭownload the latest release from my repository, unpack it, and upload it to Proxmox’s ISO store at /var/lib/vz/template/iso. We’ll be using OpenCore as a bootloader for Catalina. Building the offline installer requires you to have a Mac, here are the instructions. If you won’t have an Internet connection available to Catalina during installation, or your network can’t provide an IP address by DHCP you’ll need to build an offline installer instead. Upload the “ISO” to your Proxmox server’s ISO store (typically /var/lib/vz/template/iso). The result is actually a raw disk image, not a true ISO, but Proxmox has better tools for picking and re-using ISO images than disk images. Qemu-img convert BaseSystem.dmg -O raw Catalina-installer.iso # Or use qemu-img from the qemu-utils package to do it instead: Or like so if you’re building this on Linux: # Install the dmg2img package and.ĭmg2img BaseSystem.dmg Catalina-installer.iso Convert that dmg into an “iso” like so if you’re building this on macOS: hdiutil convert BaseSystem.dmg -format UDRW -o Catalina-installer.iso This results in a ~500MB “BaseSystem.dmg” file in the current directory. Download and run fetch-macOS.py in a terminal to download the Catalina recovery image from the Apple software distribution server (this can be run on Linux, Proxmox, or on a Mac): The easiest installer to build is a recovery image, which will download Catalina during installation. Modern AMD CPUs also support SSE 4.2 and will work with this guide. Older CPUs will cause the finder to repeatedly crash after installation completes (with an Illegal Instruction exception in the graphics code). Your Proxmox host computer’s CPU must support SSE 4.2, so for Intel your CPU must be at least as new as Nehalem, which was the first CPU generation to bear the “Core” i5/i7 branding. You also need a real Mac available in order to fetch the OSK key. I’ll assume you already have Proxmox 6.1 or 6.2 installed. If you’d like to use Clover instead, use my older tutorial, but OpenCore works better! Requirements You can get the full sourcecode on my GitHub here. This tutorial for installing macOS Catalina using OpenCore has been adapted for Proxmox from Kholia’s OSX-KVM project and Leoyzen’s OpenCore configuration for KVM. MacOS 11 Big Sur has now been released! If you’d like that version instead then please use my new Big Sur installation guide!

The top of the mechanism apparently knocked loose a portion of a wasp nest on the ceiling of the stall I was in, and that chunk of nest somehow managed to fall directly down the back of my pullover. I was hosing off my car with one of those outdoor car wash wands. My only other ‘sting’ incident was surely nightmare fuel for some poor gas station patrons. Luckily, he said he wasn’t allergic, although for an hour or two, he did look like he’d been sparring with Mike Tyson. He got stung inside his mouth and I immediately was eight years old again, fearful of expanding tongues and ambulances. The loudest cuss word I’ve ever heard let us all know there wasn’t just pop in the can. Years later, I was golfing with buddies when one took a swig of his pop, which had been left unattended in the cart while he was putting. Fair bit of swelling, but nothing too terrible. Remembering the drill from when I was younger, he got some ice, some allergy medicine and (my addition to the mix) some ice cream. While he was sitting down, a bee had crawled through the leg hole in his diaper and stung the poor fella on the backside. Within a few seconds (though it seemed like hours), my Clouseau-like detective skills uncovered the answer. He couldn’t quite verbalize what was wrong, but something was very clearly amiss. I scooped him up and took him inside and the wild screeching continued. Suddenly, like I had done many years before, he let out a blood-curdling scream. One summer, when my son was maybe a year old, we were out back playing ‘Bloop’, a game where I collected little stones and he tossed them down a grate and happily shouted “bloop” when they hit the water below. I can understand the parental concern, however. READ MORE: WOLF: Debate over letter grades for B.C. In retrospect, very thoughtful, though the terror to actual danger ratio was way, way off.Īnother sting a few months later, also with minimal damage, essentially confirmed I could make it through a bee sting, though it took many, many years before the reflexive terror would subside. So the MedicAlert chain was mostly just ordered out of an overabundance of caution. Turns out, I did get stung as a toddler and swelled up pretty good. “I thought I was allergic to bee stings,” I said, the highlight reel of fearfully recoiling from every bee or wasp for years on end playing through my mind. She gave me some type of allergy medicine and maybe 30 minutes later… nothing. “WAIT?!!?” I shouted, knowing we should already be speeding toward the hospital. Let’s wait to see if there is any swelling.” I told my Mum, who didn’t exhibit nearly enough panic for my liking, given I was about to turn into the Michelin man. I immediately shrieked loud enough to shatter all the glass at every home within an 11-block radius, clutched my necklace and ran inside to prepare for the end. I had clearly stepped on a bee and been stung. The summer I turned 11, I was frolicking (note: you’re never too old to frolic) shoeless in the backyard when I felt some pain between my toes. Turns out, I had quite the active imagination. “What’s wrong?” my rescuer would ask and I’d hold up the necklace before passing out as the ambulance arrived. I could never recall being stung, so I always envisioned that necklace saving me as I lay, gasping and swollen after an attack by some evil, weaponized flying creatures. It had my blood type, a contact phone number and the most terrifying words of my childhood in big capital letters: ALLERGIC TO BEE STINGS. It was a nondescript silver chain with a small, circular pendant of doom that foretold unspeakable horrors. I didn’t want to but I wore it nonetheless. There are plenty of movies and TV shows to watch if you like Parks and Recreation, and we’ve compiled the best ones right here for you, in this list. Hilarious ensemble comedy that follows Leslie Knope, a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana. Parks and Recreation is a workplace comedy that garnered the love and affection of hordes of fans, but if you’ve finished watching the series, there’s no need for despair. The series (Ended) has run for 7 season and consists of 125 episodes, with each lasting 22 minutes. Obviously that then changed (maybe as a way of scaling it for the benefit of investors without really scaling it) and they launched it as a VOD channel/hub on Sky which was probably the best way for us as it would have been hard to position a standalone service with Sky/Now and Hayu already existing (as well as no real USP).that being said it does feel like they're not really committing fully as yet given that they've opted to license a few NBCU owned Peacock shows to other services & channels as there's clearly a decent amount of library NBCU content they could likely exploit on there but I think in real terms, Sky is the flagship European brand and I think for us, Peacock is really there to serve that brand so expect Peacock will likely remain a small proposition for the time being. Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, the team behind the US version of The Office Parks And Recreation, like that previous American comedy classic is a mirth-filled mockumentary full of quirky and offbeat characters who effortlessly have a crack at your funny bone while sneakily tugging at your heartstrings. Parks and Recreation is a Scripted Comedy TV show written by Greg Daniels. Currently you are able to watch 'Parks and Recreation - Season 6' streaming on Peacock Premium or buy it as download on Apple TV, Amazon Video, Vudu, Microsoft Store, Google Play Movies. Parks and Rec on Apple TV You can purchase the complete series (all 7 seasons) in. Parks and Rec on Prime Video You can purchase all of season 1 in HD for 12.99 and seasons 2-7 are available to purchase in HD for 19.99 each. Then some time later the head of NBCU stated it wouldn't, saying it would avoid major Sky markets. Every season of Parks and Rec are available on services like Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, iTunes, and Vudu. They said it was coming to Sky when first announced There appears to be some flip-flopping on whether it would launch here. I'm sure there is a long term strategy in there but at the minute it looks like a completely unnecessary layer. Surely the content could just have been dumped onto SKY / Now. My expectations weren’t high for my enjoyment but at nearly $900 for our night in a bear cub suite during a holiday weekend, I had hoped to be pleasantly surprised. Our kids had a blast in the waterpark and generally enjoyed the stay. We never encountered one bad staff (pack) member, they were all more than friendly.… The room and facilities were kept clean from what we seen. So the rate was more than good considering it included the water park. There were literally cars lined up waiting for people to leave because there was nowhere to park! Although there were issues we only paid $109/night for 5 people. The arcade is EXPENSIVE! Be careful where your room is, there are some that the doors literally have to walking out to the play area where the bowling, rockwall and mini golf are. There was a line of parents and little ones waiting at the bottom for a double tube that never got one because as the others got off the slide they would never give up their tube and instead hold onto it and go again, and again, and again. Littler kids are not allowed to ride alone and there were very few double tubes. And the one waterslide that had the double tubes needs far better management. The hot tub was literally standing room only shoulder to shoulder packed. Lazy river was packed with kids just racing around it without tubes, anything but lazy and relaxing. I just figured being a waterpark lodge that there'd at least be a retractable clothes line in the shower. And oddly did not have anywhere to dry wet swimsuits and towels other than the bathtub. Room was a tad smaller than expected for 5 people. We could have gone on a week long trip to the Caribbean for what we ended up paying here in 2 nights.… A continental breakfast should have been included, and the staff should be more involved. Mostly because for the price it’s really a true rip off. Overall it wasn’t an experience to write home about. Again for $1500 a maid should come in and refresh towels, make beds, and refill anything empty. Makes sense, right? □□♀️ Also no room service. They told me it’s dangerous for a child to sit in the lap of a parent. He got going so fast he fell back and hit his head and then was petrified. Our son was 2 and they expected us to send him down alone and catch him at the bottom. Another huge complaint was in the little kids water park they would not allow parents to go down the slide with their child. Highly recommend the old mill restaurant. We went out to dinner during our stay as the food was better and it was cheaper. A sliver of cheesecake for example and I do mean a sliver was $10 plus tax. Anything extra you want to do or eat cost you a lot of money. The chlorine was so strong it burnt our nose end eyes. This includes nothing other then the water park. My family and I went with family friends. There is also a bar for the parents/adults so when the kiddies are asleep sneak down for a few drinks.… Just google it and use maps on your cell phone. Most guests are not from the area and do not know this and forget about googling "nearest restaurants". All easy access right off the highway eastbound. All these places will save a family a ton of money in food. There are also many restaurants just down the highway (Rte.2) that are also 5 minutes away in Leominster, MA such as Friendlys, Longhorns, Applebees, etc. Food is expensive so just take a 5 minute ride down the street to the gas station where there is a Dunkins/ Nathans for lunch and is also great for dinner.
